Tiny Bubbles: Hawaii Beer Reads for 12/04/13

12th Ave. Grill Bottle Share Dinner

My picks of beer news from around the web that you need to read and my two cents on the topics.  Most of the time it’s Hawaii beer news topics, but every once in a while you’ll find other general beer related topics.

Nonstop Honolulu – 12th Ave. Grill recently hosted their second bottle share dinner. Miss it? Then you missed out on some incredible beers. Nonstop Honolulu’s Ed Morita was there and captured all of the great beers people shared as well as the ono looking clambake. Next bottle share dinner is in January. http://bit.ly/1bh7LXG

The Full Pint – Sierra Nevada just gave me another excuss to head to the Bay Area with the opening of Torpedo Room in Berkeley. The new tap room will feature an awesome selection of roatating Sierra beers and special one offs normally only found at the brewery. So much closer than driving all the way to Chico.  http://bit.ly/IsVLZi

Beer Pulse – Anchor Brewing is releasing a new IPA. Seems like they finally decided to create a more modern IPA for the hop crazy drinkers. Anchor’s Liberty Ale is considered one of the first American IPAs, but compared to today’s IBU blasting West Coast IPAs, it more resembles a pale ale. Looking forward to this one! http://bit.ly/1dQQMQm

Examiner – There are more breweries and beers on the market in the US than anyone can keep track of. Everytime I go into a bottle shop on the mainland I’m bombarded with a slew of new brands that I’ve never heard of. I LOVE IT. What I love even more is visiting small breweries and brew pubs. There has been talk recently that there are too many breweries opening up and we’re going to hit a ceiling soon. Charlie Papazian digs into this question with very loud answer…HELL NO. He should use Hawaii as an example. We might be the most underserved beer market in the country. http://exm.nr/1dQRQni

Beer Pulse – Rock & Brews Paia is scheduled to open in late January. The So Cal based rock themed, beer focused restaurant will be hosting an opening celebration on January 25th and 26th. I’m very curious to see how this fits into Paia. http://bit.ly/18DmXkn
