Tiny Bubbles: Hawaii Beer Reads for 12/18/13

My picks of beer news from around the web that you need to read and my two cents on the topics.  Most of the time it’s Hawaii beer news topics, but every once in a while you’ll find other general beer related topics.

Star Advertiser – Fifty/Fifty Brewing Eclipse Imeprial Stout is coming back to Hawaii and this time we’re getting 7 out of the 10 varieties! My latest article for the Star Advertiser has all the details, but it’s behind their paywall. So if you don’t subscribe you can’t read it. In short, expect to see bottles of this barrel aged beauty in stores in early January. http://bit.ly/1cB684S

Nonstop Honolulu – Quick little update on Honolulu Beerworks. I stopped in yesterday and they are about a week away from brewing. Floors are being finished this week and kitchen getting final hook ups. Keep your fingers crossed for mid January.  http://bit.ly/1bdMlYh

Stewbum & Stonewall Facebook – Looks like Oahu could be getting it’s second brewery in 2014. Stewbum & Stonewall recently posted they are close to signing a lease and have ordered their pilot system. http://on.fb.me/1cRwenH

Seattle Times – Cute little write up about Maui Brewing Company’s Kahana Pub in the Seattle Times. Seems like every travel writer wants to come to Hawaii to have a beer or three. http://bit.ly/1kiMH7S

Beer Pulse – Deschutes will be releasing it’s third Class of ’88 collaboration beer this month. This Belgian Style Ale was created with Goose Island and brewed with Michigan Riesling, Oregon Pinot Noir grapes, hops from Mt. Hood and pilsner malt. It spent 6 months aging in barrels resulting in a dry, slightly tart flavor with an oak boldness. http://bit.ly/JIHWqG
