11. Bonzer Front
New Beers:

De Proef Brouwerij Zoetzuur Flemish Ale -Belgium
From the Flemish translation for “sweet-sour.” This is a unique amber colored ale of multi yeast strain fermentation, with a hint of Belgian Kriek (cherry) juice added. The brewer has combined these elements in a subtle and complex blend where sour notes are balanced by tart fruit, hints of wood, and a velvety finish.

Robinson’s Trooper -Stockport, England
TROOPER is a Premium British Beer inspired by Iron Maiden and handcrafted at Robinsons brewery. Malt flavours and citric notes from a unique blend of Bobec, Goldings and Cascade hops dominate this deep golden ale with a subtle hint of lemon.

Aspall Peronelles Blush Cider -England
Deep blush color with a rich appearance. There is a subtle blackberry aroma with a hint of traditional cider apple. Smooth, silky and refreshing palate beautifully balancing sweetness and acidity. Lingering aftertaste of berries.

Vanderghinste Oud Bruin -Belgium
Originally called “Ouden Tripel”, this ancient West Flanders Brown beer has found a new élan as a regional specialty under its current name: “VanderGhinste Oud Bruin”. The main ingredients of our Vanderghinste Oud Bruin are malted barley, wheat, hops, water, and caramelized malts. These are used to brew a top-fermented beer.Blending this beer with lambic beer aged in oak for 18 months results in this specific West Flanders Brown beer. Its typical flavour is characterized by a well-balanced, hardly noticeable sourness. This first flavour impression is soon followed by a second pleasant discovery: a slight bitterness followed by a hint of sweetness.

Colorado Vixnu Imperial IPA -Brazil
In this masterful Imperial IPA, the brewers at Colorado have used the pale version of their native Rapadura sugar. It give the beer a slight alcoholic boost and serves to even out the heavy malt character. The result is an intensely hoppy beer with a tremendous amount of poise and grace. The body is moderate and the “moreish” quality is high! Aromas of tropical fruits, jasmine and honey dominate the nose. This is a sexy beach volleyball player of a beer!

Bosteels Pauwel Kwak Amber Ale- Belgium
Kwak is rich amber in color with a slightly sweet, generously malty character. Hops are subdued, but present a well-considered balance with the juicy ripeness of grain and a fruity, meringue softness. The special Kwak glass is hard to miss in Belgium. You can see enthusiastic beer drinkers of all ages enjoying this wonderful beverage in every city across the country.

La Trappe Tripel Trappiste Ale – Belgium
A rich, brassy golden in color and sporting a slightly off-white foam, La Trappe Tripel is the hoppiest of the La Trappe range, displaying a beautiful balance of hoppy bitterness and full malt flavor. You will notice spices, fruit and hops in the nose. On the palate Tripel is slightly bitter, spicy and refreshing. The style “Tripel” generally means a beer that is golden in color and strong. Like most Belgian or Benelux ales, it’s also bottle conditioned (as are all Koningshoeven ales) which means that living yeast are in each bottle and produce the carbonation in the package. This yeast is normal and healthy, as well as rich in vitamins and minerals. If you notice a thin layer of sediment in each bottle, it’s due to this yeast.

St Feuillien Belgian Coast IPA
The newest collaboration with Green Flash is described by the brewers: The bitterness is high and very complex. It is qualitative and gives a long mouthfeel but without harshness. The malt backbone supports the strong hop character and provides the best balance. The finish is decidedly dry, only rounded by bottle conditioning.

Urthel Samaranth Quadrium Belgian style Quad- Netherlands
When Bas and Hildegard were married, they did not serve wine at their celebration, they served a special strong beer brewed by Hildegard to commemorate the occasion. It was Samaranth and was inspired by the Quadrupel of Koningshoeven and other big, malty special beers of the Trappists. The beer was such a hit that it has been in the selection ever since. Dusky, deep brown in color with a slightly off-white foam. In the nose, it’s sweet and faintly spicy with notes of dried fruit, nuts, chocolate, and marzipan. On the palate, it’s big and bold, massively malty and slightly warming from the alcohol. It is long and shockingly dry in the finish.

Robinson’s Old Tom Strong Ale- England
A massive, dark and warming ale with notes of dried fruit and pepper, and tremendous malt backbone. You’ll taste roasted nuts, chocolate and a pleasant smokiness. Aromas of ripe malt and dried fruit round out the character of this tremendous, traditional and excellent Strong Ale.

Zatec Bright Lager (Pils) – Czech Republic
The striking thing about a great Czech Pilsner is the sense of balance. Like all great Czech beers, Zatec Pilsner has beautiful, rich, rounded malt notes that are perfectly set off by a bracing hop bitterness and gentle hop aroma. It’s pale beer in it’s perfect incarnation! Delicious with sausages, pork roasts and delightful with assertive fish dishes. A delightful beer-lovers beer! r

Sunner Kölsch – Cologne, Germany
It was Sunner that brewed the first beer in the modern Kölsch style (though it wasn’t called that then) around 1900. Sunner is a ‘Kölsch’ style beer which is unique to Koln (Cologne) Germany. Like Champagne (Appellation Controlee) it is protected by laws, so that only beers brewed in that region can bear the name. It is an Ale with a stylish character derived from lagering. It is clear, pale straw color in appearance. The taste is refreshing, gently fruity, slightly sweet with a crisp, dry finish.
