Pacific Business News –  The brewing scene on Oahu is going to get a lot busier in the next year. A number of breweries are in the planning stages including Waikiki Brewing Company, which will be part of Cheeseburger Waikiki on Kalakaua. Pacific Business News –  There have been rumors of Kona Brewing Company eyeing a new location in Kakaako for a while now. The rumors are now being partially confirmed in a statement the company made to Pacific Business News that it is looking to build a new restaurant/pub in the area.  http://bit.ly/1r4Vgsk

US Open Beer Champs –  Our Hawaii breweries cleaned house the the recent US Open Beer Championships. Kona Brewing Company racked up a bronze medal in the Session Ale category for it’s Golden Wave Ale. Big Island Brewhaus also scooped up a number of awards (Gold Red/Amber Ale for Red Giant, Silver American IPA for Holy Humulus, Bronze Bock/Maibock for Mele Mai Bock, Bronze Herb & Spice for White Mountain Porter) including a top 10 overall finish. Maui Brewing Company scored 2 medals including a Gold in Munchner Helles with Bikini Blonde and  a Bronze in Out of bounds IPA with Lorenzini Blood Orange DIPA.
