My picks of beer news from around the web that you need to read and my two cents on the topics.  Most of the time it’s Hawaii beer news topics, but every once in a while you’ll find other general beer related topics.

PBN – Waikiki Brewing Company has released their first beer in cans, Hana Hou Hefe. The 6 pack cans are now available at the brewery and at select stores around Oahu. For now, this is the only beer in their line up that they plan on canning. The easy drinking and refreshing hefe is a perfect fit for cans. Be on the look out for the bright green cans with snazzy pink carrying caps. http://bit.ly/2aCL6MK

Brewbound – Kona Brewing Company is set to release their new Hanalei IPA around the islands this Fall, with bottles going national in 2017. This session IPA (4.5% abv) is brewed with POG juice and you may have gotten a sneak taste of it if you attended the Kona Brewers Festival earlier this year. Hanalei IPA is available on draft at the two Kona pubs in Hawaii (Kona and Hawaii Kai) right now and more draft will start making appearances at select bars around the islands in the next month. http://bit.ly/2aQHdmZ

Honolulu Beerworks – Ready to finally make the dive into professional brewing? Honolulu Beerworks is looking for brewery help. http://bit.ly/2aX0zs6

Market Watch – More Kona Brewing news. It looks like the world will be seeing a lot more of their beers in the near future. CBA just re-upped their master distribution agreement with AB-InBev along with a long term contract brewing agreement. It’s widely known that all of Kona’s packaged products are brewed at various brewing facilities around the country (Portland, New Hampshire, Tennessee). The new agreement with AB will see them brew up to 300,000 barrels at their facilities. Read down to the bottom to the interview with CBA CEO Andy Thomas. http://bit.ly/2aZiBuR
