The 9th Annual Maui Brewers Festival is happening this weekend on Saturday, May 13th and there are still tickets available. The festival is not only a great time, filled with tons of awesome beer, but it is also the main fundraising event for the Maui Arts & Cultural Center aka MACC.
The beer list (below) is loaded as usual with lots of great local beer and standouts like Stone, Avery, Bear Republic and Great Divide. For those of us not from Maui, the festival is a great way to taste a ton of great beers from the Maui Stone portfolio.
This year the tickets and wrist bands have changed a little due to a new Maui Liquor Commission rule. Now with your ticket purchase your wrist band will only include 2 drink tabs, good for two 4 ounce pours. Your ticket includes access to unlimited food (and the food list looks killer) and all day entertainment from 3 different bands. Unfortunately this new Maui County rule won’t allow MACC to pre-sale tickets with more than 2 drinks.
BUT, the good news is that you can purchase more drink scripts once you are inside (unlimited, but practice safe drinking please!). There will be three scrip stations, one near the First Aid, one in the pavilion and one near the Crazy Shirt’s booth. Scrips will be $3 per 4 oz. pour. Scripts will be CASH only. There will be ATM’s inside the festival, but if you want to avoid long lines just to get some bills, bring the cash with you.
The VIP session is already sold out, so make sure you grab your tickets for the general admission session. There will be taxi’s and Uber drivers nearby so you can get home safely as well.
Need more convincing…check out the fun from last year’s festival. Have fun Maui!
